“Flywheel – Small incremental changes that build upon each other”

To define the flywheel that drives the ET Alumni Assocation, it is not in any activity that it does. It’s the belief that men have a duty and a responsibility to achieve, be leaders, and serve in Community. This idea did not start in ETAA. It commenced in 1911 with the formulation of Kappa Alpha Psi. In 1911 going to college for a young Black man was a challenge. In 1911 there were just ten African-Americans enrolled at Indiana University. These young men came together to form a bond of friendship and fraternity that would lead to personal, social, and academic achievement.

The flywheel of the fraternity is individual development. It is the need for each to make and serve a lifelong commitment to growing into the man that God wants him to be. It means maturity and dedication to a cause greater than oneself and in unison and under the covertness of God’s words. The ET Alumni Assocation is the extension of the fraternity to help develop individuals to inspire for growth and achievement throughout life.
